Date: Saturday May 17
Time: 8:30am to noon.
Location: Stennis tract, just west of the intersection of Spicewood Springs
and Loop 360.
Description: Remove invasive plant species, especially ligustrum, on water

Trail Work On Wildland Conservation Properties
Trail construction - Slaughter Creek
Date: MULTIPLE DATES: May 3, 4, 10, 18
Time: 9am to 1pm
Description: The Austin Ridge Riders will be constructing trail on the
WQPL's Slaughter Creek tract. This trail cannot be opened until it is
completed. Come help finish it so that it can be opened this spring.

Cave

fm> Cricket Counts
Commitment: One night every 3 months, beginning in June. Work commences at
dusk and ends 2.5 hours after sundown.
Location: Various locations available.
Description: Count cave crickets as they exit the cave at night. Work will
be done just outside of cave entrance, not inside the cave. Cave cricket
populations serve as an indicator to the cave's overall ecological health.

Hog

fm> Trap Monitor
Commitment: Check trap one day a week for 6 months (vacations allowed).
Checking the traps may take up to 1.5 hours per visit.
Location: Central Hays County.
Description: Feral hogs are a non-native invasive animal that breeds
prolifically and can destroy habitat, especially wetlands and riparian
areas. We are trapping them and need volunteers to maintain the traps and
alert staff if any are caught. Click HERE
