The 2008 Moonlight Margarita Run Hosted by The Town Lake Trail Foundation Presented by Freescale Semiconductor AUSTIN, Texas – June 24, 2008 – The Town Lake Trail Foundation (TLTF) is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the Fourth Annual Moonlight Margarita Run benefiting Austin’s Town Lake Trail. The popular race and after-party will be held the evening of Thursday, August 7, 2008. For the second consecutive year, Freescale Semiconductor is generously underwriting the event. 
After a shotgun start at 8:00 pm, runners and walkers will wind their way along a 5K course down the streets bordering Lady Bird Lake. The fast, out-and-back route starts at the trailhead underneath MoPac, next to the giant piece of granite runners affectionately call "The Rock." Racers will head east along Stephen F. Austin Drive and Cesar Chavez Street to a turn-around near City Hall and back along Cesar Chavez to The Rock. Racers finish in front of the American Legion Hall on Veterans Drive. Immediately afterward, the Town Lake Trail Foundation will host its award-winning, mariachi-filled post-race party underneath the live oaks of the American Legion Hall grounds, with food and margaritas provided by Maudie’s TexMex. The Moonlight Margarita Run has been recognized as the "Best Race: 10K or Under" by the Austin Runner’s Club. 
"Our veteran racers know this event is not only a fun race and a fantastic party, but also a great way to give back to the trail that gives us all so much," said Susan Rankin, executive director of TLTF. 
Tickets are now available to the public at www.moonlightmargaritarun.com at a cost of $30 for the run, $45 for the party or $70 for both. If tickets remain available on July 25, prices will be $35 for the run, $55 for the party or $85 for both (a limited number of tickets will be sold to the Moonlight Margarita After-Party). All net proceeds from the race will help fulfill TLTF’s mission to protect and enhance Town Lake Trail.
