* June 13-15, *2008 *SPRING BIOREGIONAL CAMPOUT*
Dear Friend of Life Regions and Community,
Come congregate with us at the DuBose Natural Farm on the Little Blanco
River, to share information, play together and to celebrate the life, the
land and the continuing thread of the community building the new character
of our culture in the Texas Hill Country. Three auspicious days :
Friday the 13th, Saturday, Flag Day (who knew?), and Fathers Day Sunday. The
*Spring 2008 Bioregional Campout*, June13-15 focus upon "*Nurturing the
Sustainable Tradition*".
As the *un*sustainable, exploited land(usages) and community, realize that
we have again been done a huge favor, once more in our ongoing relationship
with each other we are watching and sculpting as life shakes itself
out, discarding what is not useful on our way to just and joyous culture.
As we've done so often, we will gather Friday, mid-afternoon to prepare
the site, find places to pitch a tent, or throw our cot, bedroll or palette,
and begin our week-end. This is the area around Blanco, which is also
celebrating the "*Lavender Festival*" on this weekend, so notice as you
drive, and perhaps come early to drive around Blanco. One disappointing bit
of news: the unusually late winds, together with the heat has the usual
Little Blanco River swimming holes all dried up, but other places are within
walking distance. The past few seasonal campouts at the DuBose Farm have
been well attended, fun, informative and joyfully and gratefully received.
Bring musical instruments, food to share (pot luck), maybe a $5 per car
donation, whatever you want to sleep in or on. There are places to sleep on
floors with ceilings and roofs. Some cooking facilities, a wood-burning hot
tub and sauna and lots of fun folks – no dogs please.
Come open to sharing your experiences, thought, and optimism. COME TO
THIS FUN IMPORTANT COMMUNITY EVENT IN THE COUNTRY!
