Greetings, Potluckers!
We had a terrific turn-out at our May potluck with United Way Capital Area.
A big thank you to United Way and particularly Mando Rayo for being such a
gracious host and answering all our questions! Join us for our June
gathering for a very different kind of evening with a warm and welcoming
group on a special evening of the year.
Summer Solstice at Scarlet Circle
8801 Scarlet Circle, Austin
Friday, June 20, 2008
7:00 p.m. - 10 p.m.
The Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year and marks the beginning
of summer. Also known as "Midsummer" or "Litha", it is the time of the year
when the sun is at it's greatest distance from the celestial equator, a time
distinctive on an astrological level and a time of year celebrated by many
ancient civilizations with their unique traditions to mark the summer
season. Join us with the Church of the Golden Rule, an earth-bonded church
that honors the sacred in nature, for the celebration of the Summer Solstice
and a universal worship for peace.
PLEASE BRING a dish to share that serves 6-8 people, as well as whatever you
would like to drink. Also, please bring your own plates, utensils and cups.
Driving Directions: At the 290/71 split at Oak Hill, go south on Highway 290
for about 3 miles until see a sign for Tara Lane. Take a left onto Tara Lane
and drive about a quarter mile until you see a road on your left which will
be Scarlet Circle. Turn left on Scarlet Circle and park on the side of the
road. The ranch is a short walk from the end of the road.
