A Special Design~Build~Live Product Presentation
Wednesday, June 18, 2008
7:00 pm at Casa de Luz, Cielo Room

MgO: Rediscovery of an Ancient Concrete
Presented by George Swanson, Substance Distribution

Come and explore the ancient concrete of China!
Magnesium Oxide (MgO) is a naturally-occurring
mineral with many uses, including building
applications as wallboard, sheathing and siding.
All-natural blends of MgO-based cold ceramic
cements are being re-introduced to Western
culture, offering sustainable alternatives to
less “green” conventional products.

The presentation will include physical samples of
the various products as well as descriptions of the following:
– History of MgO
– Cement Chemical Properties
– Current Uses
– Applications
– Availability

For more information, contact George Swanson at
<mailto:gps at flash.net>gps at flash.net or Substance Distribution at (512) 385-4326

In order to help expose more of us to new,
innovative or alternative sustainable materials
and systems, Design~Build~Live periodically
sponsors sessions on selected proprietary
products. DBL offers these presentations for
educational purposes only and makes no
endorsement of particular products, systems or
installers represented – It is up to each
individual to verify the appropriateness for their particular need.

You are welcome come before the presentation at
6:00 pm for a wonderful macrobiotic meal ($8 -
$12, including drink and tip) at Casa de Luz.
