[AEN] Austin Cool House Tour Needs Volunteers June 22

Dear AEN,

The 12th annual  Austin Cool House Tour is coming up, guidebooks go on sale at both Central Markets June 1 and online at www.txses.org.
We could use some volunteers to be docents at any one of the 18 (!!!) projects.

The tour will be June 22, noon-6:00 and what a tour it will be. There were 37 applications. Green design is practically mainstream. The result? We have 18 houses and duplexes on the tour. We have projects in Buda, up on 183 & Anderson Mill, out CR 1826, at the Mueller Redevelopment and 14 in the Austin city limits. We have single family homes, duplexes,an in-law guest house, modern, traditional and the first Platinum LEED Certified residence in Austin.

I need a lot of folks to greet and check tickets..... 72 to be exact.

So if you're interested, please drop me a line (soon!). Let me know where you live and I'll try to match you to your area. The shifts are 11:00-3:00 and 3;00-7:00 (first shift sets up early, last shift picks up signs). There'll be a short training session the week before the tour (3 times to choose from for your convenience).

The tour is free to docents, so when you're not greeting tourees, you'll be able to catch some of what makes Austin a leader in the cool house movement.
