Here is the first reply from TXDOT concerning the giant heritage oaks. 
I will keep all of you alerted on   the latest on this issue. Thank all of 
you for your letters and emails.
We have their attention for sure. But more emails and letters are needed as 
to keep the pressure up. So please tell your friends. I have requested an on 
site meeting. I will announce the day and time so any or all of you may attend.

Again, thank you for your support in saving for these beautiful trees.
