Clothing of
the American Mind (COTAM), creator of eco-friendly t-shirts for the
politically, socially and environmentally conscious consumer, will host a trunk
show to celebrate the launch of the Unscrew
America collection on Thursday, July 17 from 6 – 9 pm at Parts &
Labour, located at 1604 S. Congress Ave. Organic refreshments will be served
and proceeds from shirt sales will go directly toward Unscrew America's valiant
efforts as well as additions to the Unscrew collection.
Launched in
February 2008 with help from advertising agency GSD&MIdeaCity, the Unscrew America campaign seeks
to inform young Americans how easy it is to make the switch to energy-efficient
lighting. Co-founded by Lesley Chilcott, producer of the Oscar-winning
documentary An Inconvenient Truth and Roy
Spence, CEO of GSD&M orchestrated a partnership between Unscrew Americaand the City of Austin. In the partnership, Austin Mayor
Will Wynn along with CREE Inc. held a press conference earlier this year to
announce Austinas a LEDCitywith an energy efficient lighting
and sustainable living program. Success in this effort will lead to launches in
other cities looking to cut spending while reducing carbon emissions.
So, do your part in unscrewing our beloved environment, change those bulbs to
LEDs and sport this tee with pride.
Special thanks
to: Parts& Labour, Ecstatic Cuisine, Greenling's, White Mountain Foods, Good
Libations and Austin Outhouse
