Permaculture Summer Series #3: The 90% Reduction
Challenge - Thursday July 10, 7pm

Do you ever worry that governmental efforts to address
global warming may be too little, too late? You might
be interested to know about a grassroots movement
called the "Riot for Austerity," launched last year by
a couple of bloggers. Several hundred individuals
around the country (and in other countries too) are
making changes in their daily habits in an effort to
reduce their carbon footprints by ***90% of the US
average*** within a year! And they (or should I say,
WE) are having fun, learning new skills, and
simplifying our lives in the process.

Want to learn more? Want to play? Hear some inspiring
stories; learn the "Riot Rules"; find out where you
stand and how far you might like to go in this
nitty-gritty planet-saving initiative.

Come early if you like, and enjoy Happy Hour in the
hotel's cozy dining room. Interesting people always
seem to congregate there.

After the talk, we'll take our usual stroll around the
Habitat Suites gardens to see, smell, touch, and taste
what's growing.

When: Thursday July 11, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Where: Habitat Suites Hotel -- Austin's
permaculture-inspired hotel - 500 East Highland Mall
Blvd. It's north of Highland Mall, near the Sailboat
Center. Hotel phone # (512) 467-6000.

The Summer Series focuses on making personal lifestyle
changes as far upstream as possible in order to
address global issues more effectively. Unless noted
otherwise, presentations are led by Jenny Nazak of
Austin Permaculture Guild. Schedule and topics subject
to change - call 512-619-5363 or check www.permie.us
if in doubt. See full schedule at www.permie.us
